A bunch of people have been asking me recently what advice I would give them if they were going to start raising money for any type of community cause, ranging from a church, school, little league team, or even small charity.
I thought long and hard about what the advice might be and ended up breaking it up into 6 different blog post, each focusing on a specific question you need to ask yourself before, during and after you start a fundraiser. This is the first post, which will simply provide an outline of the 5 important questions.
I will try to post once a week over the next 5 weeks to explain each question and provide examples and advice. It should hopefully give you some time to think about the questions in the context of your own fundraiser. I hope it helps.

When thinking about your next fundraiser here are the top five things to ask yourself before starting:
1) What am I raising money for?
2) How much money do I need to raise?
3) When do I need to raise this money?
4) What options to I have to meet these goals?
5) Is this realistic?

We always need money for the school drama club. We tried a used cell phone fund raiser last year and we got lots of phones but little money! I am alway slooking for new ideas.
